Rose-Marie

(Lucien Hubbard, 1928)

The first film version of Rudolf Friml's operetta of the same name stars Joan Crawford in the title role. Rose-Marie is in love with the outlaw trapper Jim Kenyon (James Murray) wanted for murder, but must marry another in order to protect him. Kenyon saves Rose-Marie from drowning when her canoe capsizes and must then prove that the evil Black Bastien is the real murderer.
